Russell Westbrook’s “Why Not?” mantra isn’t just a way of life, it’s the name of his Jordan Brand signature line and the motivation for his boundary-pushing player edition (PE) colorways. For the 2019-2020 season, Russ has been wearing all-new PEs that draw inspiration from his childhood and pop culture.

The shoe takes Russ’ PE game a step further with its intricate design and packaging. “The details are my favorite part of this shoe,” he adds, referring to the retail-inspired box, the water droplet accents and the tag that says “no batteries required.”

“I am so thankful to have a [signature] shoe, in itself, and I’m even more thankful to create special PEs,” says Russ of his historic, creative exclusives. “I don’t take that for granted. My intention is to show the fans different parts of the shoe and my creative side. I want people to see that I took time to think about each part of the shoe and the process of the shoe design. Each colorway and PE allow me to see the shoes in a different light.”
