For the last 14 years, Jordan and Nike have partnered with Quai 54, the biggest streetball tournament in the world, to celebrate court, culture and community. Taking place annually at the Pelouse De Reuilly courts in Paris, Quai 54 honors the love of the game by bringing together the local community, 16 elite teams from 10 countries, professional players and live performances.

Quai 54 is one of the strongest global intersections of basketball and culture today. Each year, the Jordan and Quai 54 teams add to the excitement around the games with collaborations that bring the storied tournament to life.

This year, color was the main source of Jordan “Quai 54” product inspiration. The Quai 54 team suggested the emerging trend of fluorescents paired with reflectivity, seen in streetwear and on construction uniforms. Jordan design wanted to bridge the partnership’s history of volt accents, from the early “Quai 54” Jordans, with a more contemporary, hi-vis palette. They collectively landed on three different neons, University Blue, Pink Blast and Electric Green, to pair with a black surface.

“Last year, we wanted to evoke Paris and France, so we chose red, black and blue,” recalls Thibaut de Longeville, co-founder of Quai 54. “This year, we wanted to do something radically different, bright and flashy, because we know how our players are, and we know that our crowd is super fashion-forward.”

In motion, these festive colors represent transcendence and togetherness. When they overlap, they resemble new, in-between colors that symbolize the unity of cultural elements and the start of new movements. The blue, pink and green combine most vividly on the shoes’ glow-in-the-dark outsoles, yielding harmonious hues like purple and dark green.
