It’s been, coincidentally, 23 years since Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan XI, a shoe revered for its out-of-the-box elegance and MJ’s history-making performance while wearing it. Though many recognize the original “Concord” colorway as “The Grail,” the XI has evolved throughout the years to include striking color palettes, low tops, cleated versions and women’s models.

Women’s-specific Air Jordan XIs are known for their fashion-forward aesthetic, from the first snakeskin and metallic models released in 2001 and 2007 to the black and magenta AJXI Low, inspired by Maya Moore, in 2018. In 2016, the Air Jordan XI Heiress debuted, swapping the shoe’s shiny, patent leather for rich, red velvet. A year later, another Heiress-inspired model released in black, stingray-textured metallic leather. Both Air Jordan XIs turned heads with their gold Jumpman heel details, which recalled an unreleased XI Concord.

This season, the women’s AJXI “Olive Lux” continues the tradition of using luxury-inspired materials in relevant color palettes. Olive, as the color of nature, prosperity and renewal, was chosen for its versatility; it has the ability to be either bold or neutral. The AJXI “Olive Lux” was designed with multiple shades of green and gold, including a darker, metallic mudguard, a tan upper, a gum sole and the gold Jumpman. Created by a group of women on the Jordan design team, the special metallic details represent empowerment and success, encouraging women everywhere to continue to shine. Depending on the outfit, the AJXI “Olive Lux” is a sneaker that can easily stand out or blend in.

The Air Jordan XI “Olive Lux” is available in women’s sizing on SNKRS and at select retailers.
