Three Sneakerheads On The Summer ‘19 Jordan Women Collection
Cassidy Edwards, Ticara Devone and Kayce Bagley weigh in.
Jordan Women continues to evolve its approach to sneakers, based on requests, feedback and praise from women around the world. In recent years, the line has subtly reimagined classics like the Air Jordan I and Air Jordan III in new colors and materials, while also debuting collaborations from Aleali May, Maya Moore and Vogue.
This season, Jordan Women expands to include more exotic prints, luxe materials, reimagined silhouettes and a new accent color, Atmosphere Grey. There’s something for everyone, and in some cases, sizes go up to men’s and down to kids’, too.
To celebrate a selection of the season’s new silhouettes, ChicksNKicks (CNKDaily) sneaker editors Cassidy Edwards, Ticara Devone and Kayce Bagley got an early look at what’s to come and shared their thoughts on each shoe.
Air Jordan I High PRM “Atmosphere Grey”
Release date: May 1
Ticara: “I’ve always been a huge fan of the Air Jordan 1, and undoubtedly they go with everything in my closet. For these to be created for women with premium leather and suede in a soft colorway is a go. These will easily be added to my summer rotation, paired with some crazy socks or even swapping out the laces for fun.”
Air Jordan I Low Slip “Atmosphere Grey”
Release date: May 1
Cassidy: “As a mother, this is a slip-on design I gravitate toward, because I need functionality when I’m on the go. It has just enough Jumpman branding, the perforated Swoosh and other unique accents. This shoe is about comfort and ease.”
WMNS Air Jordan I High OG “Twist”
Release date: May 3
Ticara: “This shoe is absolutely stunning. These will go straight from the box to my feet. First, it’s a black and white shoe. Second, we get the synthetic hair with premium white leather. It’s just pure heat all the way around. These are going to be super flame for the summer. Imagine the all-white outfits with these on-foot. The boys are going to try to get their hands on these, but they are made for us!”
Air Jordan XI Low “White/Pink”
Release date: May 7
Kayce: “The snakeskin look is such a mood. I’m all about textures and what they add to your look. This XI brings all the nostalgia, and the pink is a true summer vibe. These would be so cute with a pair of cargos and a cropped tee.”
Air Jordan I Jester Low “Black”
Release date: May 1
Cassidy: “The Air Jordan 1 Jester XX proved to be a dope lifestyle silhouette from the 1 Reimagined Collection last year. The same can said of this Air Jordan 1 Jester Low. Given the low cut, this pair can easily go with shorts or skirts. The keychain is an added touch that the ladies will love, because we LOVE sneaker-themed accessories.”
Air Jordan IV OG “Bred”
Release date: May 4
Ticara: “You don’t have to think twice about these, because they are iconic. I always think that anything MJ wore during a game has to be in the collection. I also think that anything in the Chicago colorway is a must. I’m from the city, so I’m biased. Lastly, Jordan IVs are easy for the ladies to style.”
WMNS Air Jordan XII “Midnight Black”
Release date: May 17
Kayce: “My first thought was, ‘This is a beautiful shoe.’ I’m in love with the colorway and that little touch of gold. It looks really sleek, and it perfectly fits the silhouette. I would dress this up with a cute leather jacket and some gold jewelry.”
Air Jordan III Explorer Lite
Release date: Now available
Cassidy: “This is one of the bolder Jumpman looks for summer, and it’s definitely for the fashion-forward female. The color pops add vibrancy, and the lacing makes the shoe more versatile for styling. The translucent collar looks breathable for the warmer months.”
Air Jordan I Zip “Mystic Green”
Release date: June 1
Kayce: “The zip adds a modern touch to the classic AJ1. This colorway screams spring and summer, but I would definitely take this into fall and winter. I’m loving the hits of green and the depth they add. I could see this styled with a sporty dress or bike shorts look.”
